Last year, 122 women and men professed perpetual vows as religious in the United States. The U.S. bishops’ Secretariat of Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations commissioned the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate at Georgetown University to conduct a survey of the newly professed to gather information about their backgrounds and religious upbringing and experience.
